Who We Support
Funding Philosophy
Each year, PAOT distributes approximately 4.5–5% of the Trust's trailing fair market value through carefully managed grants that further its charitable mission. Funding supports initiatives that strengthen opera in the Pasadena region while ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Trust.

Pasadena Vocal Competiton
Years Funded: 2018-present
Since its inception in 2016, the Pasadena Vocal Competition has awarded more than $20,000 in annual cash prizes to emerging classical singers. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the organization is dedicated to supporting young artists and fostering appreciation for opera. Made possible through the Pasadena Area Opera Trust and the generosity of donors—including renowned artists who sponsor named awards—the competition continues to invest in the next generation of opera talent.
