Since its inception in 2016, the Pasadena Vocal Competition (PVC) has awarded $30,000 annually in cash prizes to emerging classical singers, providing meaningful support at a pivotal stage in their careers. Through its support of PVC, the Pasadena Area Opera Trust directs funding specifically toward these singer awards, helping talented artists pursue professional opportunities and build sustainable careers in opera.
 

While rooted in Pasadena, the competition’s impact extends far beyond the local community. PVC attracts and supports exceptional singers from across the country and beyond, with past award recipients going on to professional careers on national and international stages. Together with generous donors—including renowned artists who sponsor named awards—PAOT helps ensure that promising vocal talent has the resources and recognition needed to reach the next level of their careers.
